A chestnut fence in Espelette
Forty metres of split palings, with no concrete or stain: a fence that will last twenty years.

Our clients wanted to replace a rusty wire fence without shutting themselves in behind a wall. We installed a split chestnut fence, a local timber that naturally resists damp.
The palings are driven straight into the ground, with no concrete: the fence lets small garden wildlife through, and the ivy has already started to climb it.
